Innovation is part of the Starlight DNA, and we're shining more than ever before through innovation!

What are the awards?
To recognise and celebrate the importance of innovation at Starlight, we have two CEO Innovation Awards:

Think Innovation Award
Recognises great innovation within Starlight, celebrating projects & changes that add value.

Innovation Star Award
Recognises an individual team member who SHINES by being truly innovative.

The Think Innovation Award
-
How did you identify and explore the problem to be solved? How is this a great example of the "think" part of our Think Achieve Grow strategy in action?
-
How does it align to our mission, strategy and values?
-
What did you do to develop the innovation? E.g. how did you experiment, learn, and adapt along the way?
-
Innovation is all about change that adds value: what is the outcome and impact of this innovation?
-
Learning is at the heart of innovation - fail fast and fail smart! How did you apply insights along the way?
-
Who were your customers? How did you involve them?
Why do you think this person lives and breathes innovation?
Highlight the important parts of innovation, such as:
-
being customer centric in everything they do
-
having a growth mindset
-
learning and adjusting as they go
-
collaborating with a broad range of people and organisations
-
always "thinking" when defining a problem or opportunity
-
being able to bounce back when things don't quite go according to plan

You can nominate for something you have been involved with, or you can choose to recognise a change you haven't been involved with (whatever you think is worthy of recognition!). Or take this opportunity to nominate a colleague.

Your submission can be in writing (2 pages max.) or spoken via a video clip (3 mins max.) It's up to you what you cover in your submission. We've included some helpful submission hints!

Submission Hints
Pretend the reader (me, Louise!) doesn't know anything about the need or solution and is time poor. Make sure you explain the need, what you did and the outcome in a concise way. Don't assume knowledge, and instead make it crystal clear why this is a great example of innovation or
simplification.
Make it engaging to read or view - we receive a lot of applications, so it needs to be succinct.
Why not have a colleague or team member read over your submission, as a fresh pair of eyes always picks up things like a typo. Ask them to view it with a "clarity" & "simplification" lens.
Don't forget to include the names of everyone involved in the initiative.
